Oni Communications appoints Joaquim Santos as Chief Commercial Officer

Oni Communications more than doubles net operating income in the 1st quarter of 2007 and achieves the best EBITDA ever

Today Oni Communications presents its accounts relative to the 1st quarter of 2007, highlighted by the best EBITDA ever, of 9.5 M€, over double in relation to that achieved in the same period of 2006. Revenue reached approximately 80 M€, reflecting homologous growth in the telecommunications service component (excluding the sale of equipment) in the order of 3.4%. The gross margin improved by 3 percentage points to 54%.

SONAECOM CLOSES DEAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONI RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMER PORTFOLIO AND SOHO;

After having reached the current understanding, the operation is now dependent only on the approval of the competent entities, but both operators are confident of a favourable conclusion of the deal.
The residential Customers shall move to Clix, the Sonaecom brand specialised in the provision of fixed telecommunications services for the residential market (Voice, ADSL, Television and Home Video).

ONI AND SONAECOM CLARIFY THE TERMS OF THE CURRENT NEGOTIATIONS

In view of the news which continue to become public knowledge, Sonaecom and ONITelecom SA restated the existence of a process of negotiations between the two operators, and clarify that they are negotiating the acquisition, by Sonaecom, of the portfolio of residential Customers and SoHo (small businesses) of Oni. However, the two companies emphasise that they have not yet reached an agreement.

Oni Communications concentrates its activity in the business market

Oni Communications is the new name of Oni, an alteration which emerged following an adjustment in terms of business strategy, reflecting the new positioning of the company to henceforth concentrate its activity in the business market and operator market.
