Our Strategy
Oni Communications is the only new operator with its own network of national coverage (Next Generation Network), exclusively focused on serving large companies and international telecommunications operators. The company’s strategy is defined by the combination of two concepts: “integrating-operator” and “exporter-operator”.
Regarding the “integrating-operator” concept, Oni Communications focuses on integrated solutions involving voice, data, video and Internet, with an increasing component of information systems and applications (which we refer to as Telecom-based IT solutions). These integrated solutions are always personalized and adapted, in an evolutive manner, to the specific needs of each customer.
Furthermore, we have accomplished the “exporter-operator” concept through the establishment of partnerships with the largest international telecommunications operators, which function as a channel to conquer the Portuguese component of the European or global networks contracted by large multinationals to telecommunications operators with a, direct or indirect, worldwide presence.
With the aim to strengthen the “integrating-operator” area, Oni Communications has launched three new companies, which will remain under the direction of Oni SGPS, focused on the provision of technological integration services, namely in the area of telecommunication networks and information technology components.
On the other hand, the “exporter-operator” area was consolidated with the opening of an Oni Communications office in Spain, for the purpose of strengthening the presence of the company amongst the major Portuguese and Spanish groups operating in the Iberia, and with the fact that revenue derived from business with other carriers now represents 30% of the total.

#01 Next Generation Network
Oni Communications operate the largest Next Generation Network (NGN) of a new operator in Portugal, with its own infrastructures covering 85% of the economic activity of our country. 50% of the company’s revenue is supported on direct optical fiber accesses to our customers. |

#02 Focus and Positioning
Oni Communications concentrates its activity exclusively on the corporate, Mid-Market and carrier markets, areas in which it has a profound know-how and experience. It provides customized solutions for the segments of greater value, accounting for 22% of the market share in the Corporate and Carriers segments, the largest market share of a new operator in all of Europe. 60% of the companies listed in the PSI-20 stock market index are our customers. |
